We discuss her parents and grandparents — emigrating from Norway and her parents' lives growing up as first generation Americans. We trace the Thompson family from Pipestone County through a 1941 family tragedy, and the Erstad family’s roots near Lake Wilson, before Herb and Eunice met at the Eagle Café and started a family of their own.
