| Howard Halsney | Herb’s childhood friend | His father and Helen Halsney (Eunice’s grandmother) were siblings — meaning Helen was his aunt, and he was Eunice’s first cousin once removed. This is how Herb and Eunice knew each other as kids before reconnecting at the Eagle Café |
| Helen Halsney | Eunice’s grandmother, who raised her | Full name confirmed here (Part 1 left her unnamed). Raised Eunice after her mother Tilda died in infancy. Gave young Eunice the choice between a wedding or a bedroom furniture set — she chose the furniture |
| Mrs. Duenow | Judy’s 5th grade teacher | Read morning devotions and Little House on the Prairie aloud after lunch. Still alive at 102 as of recording. Aunt to Wayne Duenow (Kyle’s own uncle, married to Dave Carlson’s sister Diane) — a fun small-world connection |

Corrections made in this episode
- Nuremberg trials: original claim (from ChatGPT) that the Nuremberg trials ended on Judy’s birthday, March 10, 1948, was wrong. The main Nuremberg trial ended in 1946. One of 12 follow-up trials — the RuSHA trial (Nazi “racial purity” program) — was decided March 10, 1948, Judy’s actual birthday.
- Eagle Café confirmed: the café where Eunice worked and met Herb (mentioned but unnamed in Part 1) is the Eagle Café in Pipestone.
Note: Townsend Record Shop and the Roy & Evelyn connection still need filling in as we learn more.
